Company Overview

Jersey Finance is a non-profit making organisation formed in 2001 to represent and promote Jersey as an international financial centre of excellence.

The company are funded by members of the local finance industry and the Jersey government, and also have offices in Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi and representation in London, Mumbai and Delhi.

What attributes do you look for when recruiting graduates?

When taking on fresh graduates the company looks for very good interpersonal skills and communication skills. A good understanding of the finance industry can also be an advantage. A business degree can be useful here if it includes financial and sales/marketing elements. However, the company will consider other subjects, and each applicant on their own merit.

What key advice would you give to Europe students/graduates who would like to work for your company?

Really build your knowledge of the financial markets and products so that it is clear from the outset that you understand their complexities. Keep up to date with the financial services sector in your country – this is particularly important for India where the sector is constantly changing and evolving.
