Sourcing limestone, the basic raw material, from its own quarry in neighbouring Meghalaya in India , the plant at Chhatak near Sylhet in north east Bangladesh is a unique cross-border operation. The limestone is brought in by a 17 kilometer overland long belt conveyer ensuring uninterrupted supply of the raw materials. By producing clinker, this plant enables the country save around US$ 45 million annually in foreign exchange. Besides, the company has provided direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 3000 people.
