Company Overview

Xi′an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) dates back to 1895, the year when Tianjin Beiyang School of Western Learning was first established.

In 1956, in the third nation-wide restructuring of universities and colleges, the school was named Xi′an Institute of Construction Engineering after the integration and amalgamation of the departments of civil engineering, architecture, and municipal engineering.

In 1994, the school adopted its present name, Xi′an University of Architecture and Technology, and it is now recognised as one of China′s most influential universities in the fields of civil engineering and architecture.

The university has 16 schools and departments offering 56 undergraduate programmes to students in China.

Over 2,500 staff are employed at the University including three academics of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one member of the South African Academy of Science, and about 800 teachers, engineers and technicians. At present, over 40,000 students (including about 19,000 undergraduates and over 5,000 postgraduates) are enrolled. There are also 14,000 students at the vocational and technical college level studying courses.

Spurred on by the campaign of rejuvenating China through science and education and the development of West China, the University is striving for the ‘great-leap-forward′, and is aiming to rank alongside internationally renowned universities in the future.
