Description
Erin Lin is a graduate of Nottingham University and works at Chengdu City Council. Below she talks about her career and how she accomplished her goals, and gives you advice on how to be successful in your future.
What do you do?
I draft speeches for the leaders, arrange their daily itineraries, resolve administrative problems by coordinating the preparation of reports, analyse data, and identify solutions.
Why do you think you got this job?
I prepared very well for the civil service exam, because the competition is so tough. I reviewed the books carefully and behaved in a very confident way when taking the interview.
What key advice would you give to current students from China who would like to get into a similar job to you?
Read extensively - the civil service exam will cover so many subjects that the more you read, the more likely you will get a better score.
