Job Description & Qualifications

Experience and Technical Knowledge

  • Minimum of one (1) year of industry/or consulting experience working in an accounting/ finance-related position.
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals, concepts and conventions as well as bookkeeping principles.
  • Strong technical knowledge, understanding, application and interpretation of relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software and ERP.
  • Specific knowledge of key processes involved in any of the following:
    • Accounts receivable management and revenue recognition
    • Accounts payable management and cost accounting
    • Treasury operations
    • Accounts preparation and consolidation
  • Good understanding of treasury and other financial management-related concepts.

  • Ability to research, read, comprehend and critically examine accounting standards and other pronouncements in order to have an informed point of view .
  • Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations without compromising on quality and ethical standards and values.
  • Ability to challenge existing practices to develop answers to complex issues.

Qualifications

  • A first degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, economics or a business-related discipline.
  • Qualified (or student member at the final stage of qualification) with a recognised professional accounting body (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA).
