GCR

The GCR practice provides corporate tax compliance, tax provision and tax planning services to public and private companies in many industries, such as consumer products, industrials and energy, financial services, private equity and technology, entertainment, and communications. By joining GCR, you will have the opportunity to combine corporate tax work with structured and virtual learning. Our learning and development curriculum will help you build your career in Canadian Corporate tax, which includes work experience in tax compliance, tax accrual reviews, tax provisions and tax planning. Our people work on key client issues in domestic corporate income taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.

City Hiring: Montreal

EY Private Tax

EY Private Tax advises private organizations and high net worth business owners and individuals on domestic and cross-border tax planning, estate, wealth transfer and postmortem planning, asset protection strategies and philanthropic planning.

Cities Hiring: Montreal, Quebec

Indirect Tax

The Indirect Tax team identifies tax planning opportunities to help clients minimize their tax burden as well as fulfill compliance responsibilities and avoid tax penalties. Sub specialties are Indirect Tax Recovery and Global Trade.

International Tax and Transaction Services

ITTS is made up of 5 sub specialities, International Tax Services (ITS Core), Transaction Tax Services, US Tax, Transfer Pricing and Data Intelligence. This group of teams provides tax services for many of the world's largest multinational organizations helping these corporations identify and solve complex domestic and international tax issues and assist them in successfully aligning all the different areas of taxation into a benefit-driven strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver products and services of superior quality that satisfy the clients’ requirements in a timely manner;
  • Understand increasingly complex tax concepts;
  • Discuss tax matters with the mandate team and the client’s team;
  • Stay abreast of new developments in taxation and effectively apply your knowledge to situation affecting clients;
  • Participate and contribute to the achievement of the team’s objectives.
  • As we are client facing, we expect our employees to demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude, maintaining confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and work-related products. While completing day to day tasks, we hope that all employees will enhance their technical skills by remaining up to date on trends, new legislative developments and tax authority decisions, applying them to complex situations relevant to our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in taxation in the process of being obtained;
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, law or a related discipline;
  • Strong interest in learning various aspects of taxation;
  • Excellent organizational and management skills;
  • Have advanced written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to manage time according to budgets and to work jointly with team members to ensure deliverables are completed on time;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in French and English.
