We are seeking a motivated Junior Geoscientist to join our team in one of our British Columbia offices. In this role, you will support various environmental projects, contributing to site investigations, data analysis, and remediation efforts in diverse and dynamic settings.

What you can expect to do here:

  • You will assist the Environmental Management Group with various tasks and projects.
  • You will help plan and coordinate projects related to contaminated site investigation and remediation, especially in northern or remote areas.
  • You will work closely with Senior Project Directors, Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
  • You will assist with project health and safety tasks, including reviewing safety plans, attending meetings, and visiting sites.
  • You will help summarize and interpret data, perform basic statistical analysis, and prepare materials for reports and presentations.
  • You will assist in the preparation and delivery of reports to clients.
  • You will help monitor project progress regarding scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • You will assist with project file management and quality control of documentation.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • You have a degree or equivalent in Geology or Geological Sciences.
  • You are working towards or eligible to be Geoscientist-in-training with EGBC
  • You have a Drivers License and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • You have good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • You have a basic understanding of project management and reporting on environmental projects.
  • You have basic knowledge of environmental chemistry, geology, and contaminant fate and transport.
  • Experience working in northern or remote project environments is a plus.
  • You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • You have a positive attitude towards safety and teamwork.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $55 400 - $76 200

WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location.
