The Machine Learning and Robotics team in Ocado Sofia works on products that push the boundaries of what can be achieved using machine learning and reinforcement learning in the computer vision and robotics domains. Our robot control system not only behaves in a human-like way but is also one of the fastest and most reliable in the world. We are looking for bright individuals who want to take part in our journey and to support the development of dexterous machine learning robot picker through data collection and offline data annotation on production and at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the process of training and guiding advanced robotic systems using VR tools to ensure precision and speed in warehouse automation. Drive continuous improvement in robotic dexterity and efficiency through data annotation and metric monitoring. Work closely with the engineering team to test and utilise provided tools, contributing to scalable, high-performance automation solutions that drive efficiency in modern logistics.

You will:

  • Operate VR controls to train and guide robots in performing tasks with speed and accuracy.
  • Conduct offline annotation of training data to improve AI algorithms.
  • Work closely with team members to share insights and progress, contributing to continuous improvement and scalability.

What You Need

Essential Skills:

  • Eye-Hand Coordination: Strong coordination to accurately control VR tools and guide robotic tasks.
  • Time Management: Excellent organisational skills to efficiently manage tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic English Proficiency: Ability to understand and communicate basic instructions in English.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain precision when guiding robots and annotating data, ensuring quality in tasks and minimal errors.
  • Office Work Enthusiasm: Eagerness to work in an office setting, engaging in hands-on training and collaboration.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new tools and processes as the technology and tasks evolve.

Desirable Skills:

  • Gaming and VR Experience: Familiarity with VR technology and gaming, providing a foundation for operating VR controls effectively.
  • Basic Technical Aptitude: General familiarity with computers, software, or hardware, which can ease understanding of robotic systems and VR tools.
  • Interest in Robotics: Enthusiasm for robotics and automation, although prior robotics experience is not required.
