Job Description & Qualifications
Project Role Description : Support the operations and/or manage delivery for production systems and services based on operational requirements and service agreement.
Must have skills : IBM AS /400 Administration

Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education
Must have skills:
- Expertise in IBM AS/400 Administration. (OS AS400 administration, Upgrade, VIOS, Capacity, Performance, VTL, iCluster, Robot, BRMS, DR, HMC, Journal Management, Audit & Security, CL, SQL, Query, ITIL foundation)
Good to have skills:
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to IBM AS/400 Administration.
- Experience with collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless application support and high availability.
- Solid grasp of the latest advancements in IBM AS/400 Administration and related technologies
- Strong understanding of application support processes and procedures
Roles and responsibility:
- Must have 2 to 5 years of AS/400 system Operations/Administrator experience.
- Perform IBM i administration, including system installs, PTF deployment, HMC maintenance, system firmware, software installation, configuration, custom development, and security requirements.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Review system logs, application logs and verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs, such as backups.
- Perform problem isolation, definition, resolution and follow-up for system, application, and customer problems.
- Provide monthly reporting regarding system performance and assist with capacity planning requirements.
- Maintain 3rd party software applications.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery testing.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.:
- Experience with BRMS, specifically saving and restoring data from one system to another.
- Basic CL programming knowledge
- Some experience working with configuring Power hardware using an HMC.
- Experience with MIMIX, Connect CDC, and Attunity replication software tools.
- Experience with iDoctor, CCSS (Fortra), SQL (DBMON/Plan cache) and Performance Navigator (Fortra) a plus.
- Available for on-call scheduling with some evening and weekend work being required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
