Job Description & Qualifications

Loan Processing & Transactions – Processing of Loan / Finance and processing of relevant transactions in bank’s transaction processing platform for Corporate and institutional Banking (CIB) and Business Banking (BB) customers.

Reviewing remediation reports – Review of remediation reports and take necessary actions to ensure quality of transaction processed.

Reporting – Prepare and submit all group and local reporting within stipulated time frame. 

Compliance – Comply with all Group & Local Policies for CIB lending products. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure transactions flow effectively by meeting Local Regulatory, Business and Client requirements.
  • Process transactions effectively.

Aim to achieve:

  • Effective operational standards
  • Increased Productivity and efficiency
  • Effective cost control within Global Lending Services
  • Effective quality control on operational / transactional risks
  • Work with risk manager of GLS to proactively manage all compliance and operational risk at unit level; effectively implement all operational, regulatory and financial controls with daily controls, periodic monitoring and timely issue handling.

Strategy

  • Understand the strategies of the bank & the unit (global lending services) and ensure to support successful implementation of the same.

Business

  • Transaction processing related to disbursement and maintenance of loans / Finances to CIB and BB customers.  

Processes

  • To ensure execution of all transactions within the agreed timeliness and accuracy as specified in the SLA with the Business or internally with any unit. All processing and decision making has to be in line with Group Departmental Operating Instructions (GDOI), Country addendum (CA).
  • To ensure that errors highlighted are rectified within the daily Operational activities.
  • To report / escalate exceptions to the Manager / appropriate authority, as applicable.
  • To work independently and also as an effective team player
  • Upholding the values of the Group and Company at all times.
  • Compliance with all applicable Rules / Regulations of the Company and Group Policies and adherence to the Organization’s Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy and procedures to the extent applicable and Escalating of all suspicious transactions to the Line Manager / appropriate authority.
  • Comply with Group / Country Know Your Client (KYC) Guidelines and adhere to the relevant Controls and Checks.
  • Take responsibility / ownership and follow existing operational processes / controls and suggests if changes required with a view to improve the Turn Around Time (TAT), Service Standard and cost efficiency.
  • Support timely completion of all MIS’s, Self-Assurance checks, and all relevant regulatory and group returns.
  • To identify and report all exceptions on non-compliance with standard controls 

People & Talent 

  • To Maintain good professional relationship with all the stakeholders. 

Risk Management

  • Enhance the control environment to minimize operational risk.
  • Review operational risk reports and initiate action plans. Follow-up on progress/action plans to address operational risks.
  • Identify processing risks or inefficiencies and implement appropriate and effective changes.

  • Support and co-ordinate on all aspects of the Groups Operations Risk Management structure through:
  • Group Operations Risk Management Guidelines including KYC & Anti money laundering (AML).
  • Key Risk Indicator/Key Performance Indicator/Management Information system
  • Group Manuals and GDOIs and relative country addendum.
  • Local regulations 

Regulatory & Business Conduct 

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Support Global lending services to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles like: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment etc. 
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualification

  • Business graduate from any reputed Institute
  • Strong hold on PC operation (Microsoft Office), especially on MSExcel
  • Ability to work under stretched condition in terms of meeting SLA with customer and other stakeholders.
  • The candidate should have the ability work as a team player and also should have leadership skills to drive the objectives of the unit as and when in need.
