Axis Bank nurturing young talent by imparting Banking domain expertise

Mumbai: The first ever Graduation Day for the first three batches of the Axis Bank Young Bankers program, in association with Manipal Global Education Services, was held at the Manipal Academy of Banking Campus, Bangalore on the 6th of December. Present at the occasion were Ms. Shikha Sharma, MD & CEO, Axis Bank and Mr. S. Vaitheeswaran, MD & CEO, Manipal Global Education and other senior leadership members of both organizations.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Shikha Sharma, MD & CEO, Axis Bank, said “Congratulations on choosing a sector that is as exciting, as it is pivotal to our economy, for choosing a powerful and unique education program that makes you job ready as well as life ready and for choosing one of the fastest growing banks to start your careers.” As a parting message to the Young Bankers, Ms. Shikha urged them to keep alive their passion for whatever they do and a hunger for learning, in order to excel in an industry that is dynamic and rapidly changing.
 
Adding to this, Mr. S. Vaitheeswaran, MD and CEO, Manipal Global Education Services, said “The aim of this programme is to train young graduates on the nuances of banking and equip them with the requisite skills and competencies to make them productive from day one. In a sector that is witnessing rapid changes and development, banking aptitude alone will not suffice for productivity. It is training programmes such as ABYB that help harness the potential of employees and keep them abreast of the changing needs and requirements of the banking sector, to deliver tangible benefits to the bank.” 
 
The Axis Bank Young Bankers (ABYB) Program is an endeavour by Axis Bank in association with Manipal Global Education to nurture young industry professionals by imparting domain expertise and skill sets in the field of Banking. The objective is to create a talent pool of young bankers by equipping graduates with necessary banking knowledge, skills and inculcating in them, values core to Axis Bank. Around 362 graduates received their Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services at the Graduation Day event. A total number of 27 top achievers across the three batches were bestowed with the honour by Ms. Shikha Sharma, MD & CEO, Axis Bank.
 
Axis Bank has entered into a tie-up with Manipal Global Education to create the Axis Bank Young Bankers (ABYB) program to offer Post Graduate Diplomas in Banking Services (PGDBS) and a guaranteed job with Axis Bank on successful completion.
