Pune job market sees significant growth

Improved macro economic conditions, coupled with India Inc′s plans to ramp up capacity and enter new markets seem to be having a positive impact on the hiring sentiments. This has resulted in job growth in Pune, says TeamLease, a leading recruitment consultants, human resource outsourcing and staffing company.

Sudeep Kumar Sen, assistant vice president, TeamLease said, "Pune sees a significant growth in its business outlook from 73 per cent to 93 per cent. Following a year in the lull, Pune leads in four industries namely, automobile & allied, fast moving consumer durables, fast moving consumer goods & BPO and IT-enabled services. Also, there is a huge demand for e-commerce jobs. The sectors that have shown remarkable growth in terms of employment space are financial services (up 6 per cent), healthcare & pharma (5 per cent) and engineering (4 per cent)."

According to Sen, the demand for mid-level talent is muted, but it is likely to be the biggest gainer in the coming half year, October 2014 to March 2015. TeamLease recruits over 6,000 people every month on contract basis.

Employers are placing far more emphasis on soft skills than ever, while planning talent acquisition for the next half year. The following are an indicative list of skills employers would be seeking out in tomorrow′s marketplace. Across India, Team Lease, manages over 90,000 employees on contract basis mostly the blue color jobs.

As per Team Lease′s Employment and Business Outlook Report for the half year (HY2) period from October 2014 to March 2015, tier II cities will see more hiring as business sentiment rebounds and the biggest impetus will be for junior level hiring as job growth rate touches a 24-month high. IT,healthcare & pharma and retail seems to be the primary drivers, Telecom, FMCD, FMCG and Financial Services also contributes to the upward movement in the hiring sentiment. However, despite a 14 per cent increase in the business sentiment, the hiring outlook in Infrastructure seems to be on a downward trajectory.
