Vodafone targets IITs for graduate recruitment

International telecoms firm Vodafone is stepping up its graduate recruitment in India with an increased focus on the country′s elite Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) universities, reports the Times of India.

The firm will also look to engage people from a younger age, with 40% of its total 1800 hires in the next year likely to be freshers, up from 20% last year, HR director for Vodafone India Ashok Ramchandran tells the paper.

According to the Times, Vodafone is launching its first summer internship programme this year.
