Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today close cooperation among institutions of higher learning, potential employers and students can produce graduates most suitable for the job market.
The prime minister said such cooperation, besides enhancing the quality of education, was important for the empowerment of graduates in the fields they would eventually venture into.
“I believe that empowerment of human capital is an essential ingredient in the national development agenda,” he said in his latest post on his Facebook account.
In the effort to produce quality graduates suitable for the job market, the government has implemented several measures, among them the Soft Skills Development Module and the Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship Module which are taught in all public institutions of higher learning.
Graduates are also given the opportunity to attend training programmes held in collaboration with government-linked companies (GLCs), such as Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and Bank Negara Malaysia.
A Graduate Matching Programme is carried out with industry through the collaboration of local companies.
