In short, as soon as you enter one of Caterpillar′s global facilities as a LTDP participant…you hit the ground running.

The following three tracks are open for application for 2014 China Graduate Hires:

The LTDP - Product Development Track

The LTDP - Product Development track will provide you the foundation for future success as a selected member of the Caterpillar Product Development community. This community includes engineers in design, validation, test, simulation, purchased parts technical support, maintenance and product/customer support of Cat product in research, new product introduction, and continuous product improvement.

The LTDP - Product Development track is a multi-rotational assignment program lasting twelve to eighteen months. Your specific rotation path is tailored to your intended job responsibilities and individual development needs.

Your first rotation begins in your hiring organization where you will spend three to six months in design, test, development or validation. From there, you will have two three-month rotations encompassing the full product lifecycle and one three-month cross-functional rotation (e.g. manufacturing, purchasing, etc.).

Throughout your time in the program, you will foster your technical and leadership skills through integrated core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

Upon completion of your last rotation, you will return to your hiring organization for an additional three-year assignment.

The LTDP - Manufacturing Engineering Track

The LTDP - Manufacturing Engineering track will provide the foundation for future success as a selected member of the Caterpillar Manufacturing Engineering community. This community includes manufacturing engineering, technical services, facilities planning, quality engineering, purchasing, and Caterpillar Production System deployment.

The LTDP - Manufacturing Engineering track is a three-year program with three challenging rotation assignments. Your specific rotation path is tailored to your intended job responsibilities and individual development needs.

While in the program, you will have two one-year rotations in manufacturing engineering focused on machining, assembly, process engineering or fabrications.

You will also have a one-year cross-functional rotation in quality, purchasing, supply chain management or logistics.

Throughout your time in the program, you will foster your technical skills through integrated core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

Upon completion of your last rotation, you will return to your hiring organization for an additional three-year assignment.

The LTDP - Supply Chain Management Track

The LTDP - Supply Chain Management track will provide you the foundation for future success as a selected member of the Caterpillar Supply Chain Management community. This community includes professionals in production scheduling, demand and orders management, logistics planning, inventory management, packaging, purchasing, and Caterpillar Production System deployment.

The LTDP - Supply Chain Management track is a three-year program. You will complete two one-year rotations in supply chain management which may include material planning, demand and orders planning, inventory management, logistics planning, and packaging. You will also complete a one year rotation in a cross-functional area including but not limited to purchasing, supply chain management, and manufacturing engineering. Assignments are based on business requirements and personal development needs.

Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in a position within the Supply Chain Management community for a two to three year assignment. Placement is determined by a combination of individual preference and business requirements. Positions may include such areas as supply chain planning, production scheduling, master scheduling, logistics planning, material requirements supervision, and inventory management supervision.

Qualifications

Eligibility requirements:

Minimum GPA: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
Bachelor′s or Master′s degree in (preferred, but not limited to): Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering (fluid dynamics or structural focus), Agricultural Engineering (powertrain focus), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
Degree from an accredited program or university
Passion for leadership and technology
Strong communication skills
Team oriented
Self starter
Willing to relocate within the program and upon graduation(required for Manufacturing Engineering Track and Supply Chain Management Track)
