Indians are power dressers, slog in office

India is the only country where half the workers are likely to be spotted in business formals, compared with just 11% in the US. And contrary to what you′d probably expect, 29% of workers never bring work home.

These were among the findings of a CareerBuilder survey on the average workday in the world′s 10 largest economies. The survey was conducted online within the US, India, Brazil, France, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the UK by Harris Interactive on behalf of CareerBuilder among 400 to 2,279 full-time employed hiring managers and HR professionals in each country between May 9 and June 5, 2013.

"The survey refl ects the behaviour and trends of the globalised workforce. Under dress code preferences, India stands differently among top 10 economies; for the rest, in some ways we are similar to the US, in some to the Germans and in others to the Chinese.

But overall, one gets a feeling of a homogenous workforce all across," says Premlesh Machama, MD, CareerBuilder India. ET brings you nuggets on how alike workers can be - and also where they differ the most.
